Colours of Time
Butoh throughout the seasons of the flowerfields
The Dutch flowerarea, around the city of Lisse, is known worldwide for
its beautiful flowerfields. These will be the focus of our butoh
workshop. This Japanese dance form crosses the borders of geography and
culture, because it comes from our deepest and most universal feelings.
It is also very much related to the (natural) location of the workshop
and performance. Thatfs why we have chosen the flowerfields of Lisse,
to be the location of this workshop and performance once more after
last years succes. The dance will take us back to the farmers that have
worked the fields for centuries to grow such beautiful and colourful
flowers. Colours of Time takes us through the different seasons of the
flowerfield and of our own emotions. For we use flowers as an object of
expressing ourselves in birth, mourning, joy, sadness, marriage and love.
